A short discussion for an optimistic second half of life
The “Official Chaplain to the Colbert Nation." sits down for a short interview with the author of Falling Upward, Richard Rohr. Lauren F. Winner reviews Falling Upward citing two key points for people in the second half of life. God has not abandoned you, even if you are sure that God has. ("All the books of the Bible seem to agree," notes Rohr, "that somehow God is with us and we are not alone.") Second, "We grow spiritually much more by doing it wrong than by doing it right." These spiritual writers look at Christianity and the style of Pope Francis. They compare and contrast the approach of Jesuits and Franciscans to spreading the Gospel and comment on spirituality for the second half of life.
