Attitude reversal
The texts from the Roman Catholic Lectionary today explore some attitude reversals that will help us grow in holiness. The Prophet Hosea points to the fickle piety of the people of Israel. In the Gospel from Luke Jesus tells a parable of the true righteousness in a humble prayer for mercy. Mary Lee Brock is challenged by the declaration of Pope Francis to explore her identity as a sinner. Don Schwager offers his prayer and a reflection of Augustine of Hippo, 354-430 A.D. Fr. Richard Rohr, OFM, quotes Pope Francis in Laudato Si on an attitude of the heart which is capable of being fully present to someone.
